MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS AND GENERAL INFORMATION
1. General - Flex-Strut channels are manufactured by Roll-Forming strip steel into channel configurations.
2. Material - Cold Roll .............. ASTM A-366
Pre-Galvanized ..... ASTM A-653
Hot-Rol ................ ASTM A-569
(Meets the physical requirements of Grade 33)
3. Design - Design tables are based on AISI "Specification for the Design of Cold-Formed Steel Structural Member".
4. Welding - Channel combinations are made by spot welding or plug welding. Weld spacing is three inches (3") on center.
5. Finishes - Channels are available in Plain, Pre-Galvanized and Green. Some channels are available in Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Hot-Dipped Galvanized After Fabrication, Fiberglass, and PVC Coated. Custom colors are available upon request.
6. Load Reduction - Values in Load Tables should be reduced for fabricated channels. Use 90% of published values for Slotted (SL), Short Slot(SS), Holes(H) and Knock-out(KO).
1. General - Flex-Strut channel nuts are stamped from steel bar and case hardened after forming and tapping.
2. Material - Bar used to manufacture channel nuts conforms to ASTM A-575 or A-576.
3. Finish - Electro-galvanized (E/G) zinc per ASTM B-633. Aluminum, Stainless Steel and Fiberglass nuts are available in some sizes.
1. General - Flex-Strut fittings are manufactured by punching and cold forming steel for specific channel connection applications. Typical fittings are 1/4" thick and 1-5/8" wide. Typical holes are 9/16" diameter, 1-7/8" on center and 13/16" from ends.
2. Material - Bar used to manufacture fittings confroms to ASTM A-569 or A-575.
3. Finish - Electro-galvanized (E/G) zinc per ASTM B-633. Some fittings are avaiable in Aluminum, Stainless Steel and Fiberglass.
